Mechanical Design

EControls designs and manufactures the mechanical components and systems for its control products. Providing these capabilities in-house at EControls is key to delivering products that are on-time and on-target with our customers' needs. A partial list of mechanical products designed at EControls includes:
  • electronic enclosures for hardened modules
  • printed circuit boards (PCB)
  • drive-by-wire and governed throttle body assemblies
  • gaseous fuel carburetors
  • gasoline TBI and MPI system
  • specialty valves
  • actuators
  • sensors
  • wire harnesses
The latest 3D solid modeling techniques are utilized for mechanical product design. Mechanical simulations are often developed to define and refine key design parameters in terms of thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid flow characteristics. Rapid prototyping is commonly used to visualize and evaluate new product designs. High volume enclosures are typically designed for injection molding or die casting. Lower volume products may utilize billet designs or other casting techniques. Soft tooling can be used to shorten the time to product release in order to meet special client needs. All products are subjected to Design and Process FMEA’s to ensure on-target products that are reliable and easy to manufacture. EControls uses strategic partners for NC machining, injection molding, and casting.
