Engine Dynamometers

EControls has engine dynamometers with absorption capacities from 175hp to 1000 hp. These dynamometers are used to simulate the dynamic speed and torque range of the engine during development of engine controls. Two of the engine test cells can also accomodate generator testing with loadbank absorption up to 200 Kw. Engine test cells are equipped with computer controls and data acquisition to provide accurate and repeatable test conditions. A five-gas emissions analyzer is used to measure steady-state exhaust emission levels.

Since a majority of the engines controls we develop are for bi-fuel or tri-fuel engines, the engine lab is equipped to handle most commonly used fuels. Fuel options include gasoline (winter and summer grades), natural gas (pipeline or high pressure), LPG (liquid or vapor), and diesel.
